It has always been a Flor Family tradition to have their family portrait taken whenever Tito Leo, their patriarch, comes home from the states. As promised to my lovely friend Mitch, the youngest of the clan, I would cover the shoot this year. It has been a great milestone for the family because an additional member is on the way -- another grandson is coming. Everyone’s excited to have their solos, have their own fun poses and even brought their own props! And some who were slightly not in the mood, but you wouldn’t even notice :-) Thank you Mitch for the invitation. Can't wait for the next one...
Last year, I had a casual chat with my friend Sharon about our current professions. Out of this conversation, we made a pact to pursue what we really want in our own careers. For myself, I really wanted to seriously take photography but don’t know where and how to start. That’s when she asked me to take their family portrait, making her my first client, my very first advocate so to speak. The photos were used for her youngest daughter Abi on her first birthday party. I wasn’t really expecting anything aside from having a portfolio, but was surprised to get paid, not to mention a very delicious suman from Bulacan to go with it.
Thank you Don and Sharon for the opportunity! And by the way Sharon, it's your turn :-P |
