I knew early on that I will cover Jeff and Trina’s wedding simply because Trina is my friend since College and being her friend, I was way cheaper than the rest of the photographers out there. I was not insulted (ok maybe a bit) but kidding aside, I was actually honored that both of them believed in me and gave me full control on how I want the shoot would be. This was my first wedding gig and more than anything, I was excited. Until it hit me -- I need a team. I cannot cover the event all by myself.
So I formed a team of photographers (composed of friends) and acted as their team leader. Everyone’s excited to be part of this event and the more the date gets nearer, the more “they” panic. Well it shouldn’t give too much pressure on me, si Trins lang yun. On the said event, everyone has their own assignments. Mine was mostly focused on the bride and groom of course (like I have a choice). Since this was my first wedding gig, I never thought it would be so challenging. Couple of lessons I learned was never ever be the driver if you are the official photographer and always bring a bottled water in your bag. It’s just too exhausting. But despite all the vigorous 13-hour activity involved with covering a wedding, nothing can beat captured moments and seeing your friends getting hitched. Congrats Jeff and Trina, may you have more happy years ahead! |
