Random photos from yesterday's Project Portraithon (Portrait Marathon), a fund raising for Czar's Support Network. Big thanks to all the families who supported the cause, to my fellow Paparazzis, Richard Estuesta and Reiner Blas and to Ms. Joan Vocalan of The Attic Gallery for styling the event. Most especially, I thank God for giving us a great day. It was tiring and I have to admit that age is creeping up on me, but seeing the photos afterwards put the smile back on my face.

This morning, the Mindbuilders Paparazzi Camera Club had a workshop with Ms. Owee Salva-Yulo on photographing kids without saying "Cheese" or counting 1-2-3. I was more of an observer in this workshop so I wasn't able to shoot as many photos as I usually do. And from what I observed and learned from Owee, photographing kids is tougher than shooting a wedding. Kids move fast, moody and they usually don't follow instructions. They can test your ultimate patience. But if you overcome these challenges, the result can be very rewarding. Below are some of my outputs in high ISO. Thank you Owee for a wonderful workshop!
I have been very busy the last couple of weeks, both in my full-time job and my side trips. Good thing there was a 4-day weekend to rejuvenate an ageing body and to get myself ready for the busier BER months. Going back to our department's photo contest, two of my photos, "Boy Miron" and "Locked", won in the Photojournalism and Still Life category respectively. "Boy Miron" was shot early this year during the annual fiesta in Penaranda, Nueva Ecija. This boy caught my attention, which I guess is around 3 years of age, who was sitting ontop of a tricycle while watching the town parade. I don't know why I have this fascination of shooting padlocks. I have a collection of padlock photos from most of the places I've been to. "Locked" was taken at Pike Place Market in Seattle, Washington in 2008.
Some photos of TJhay Hinto from his 7th birthday party. TJhay is Elsa's (my highschool classmate) son.
This could have been my entry for our company's photo contest (theme: Water) but had a sudden decision of not joining anymore. I wasn't confident enough if my 300 bucks was worth the gamble. Hope I made the right decision :-P
